Stilettos and Rouge

Womanhood cannot be defined by a few simple words.

I’ve rewritten this post a few times now. I cannot decide which aspects of womanhood matter most — which ones to highlight. In the end, I cannot do it all. I can only accentuate what I’ve compiled together in this playlist.

It’s amazing how music can help us. It moves us — physically and emotionally. It understands us in ways we need to be understood. This playlist helps me conquer the world. I’ve heard that there are some times you shouldn’t send a man to do a woman’s job. That sounds a bit harsh, but I can attest that I have benefited from listening to a woman’s voice in place of a man’s when I need to be empowered or when I need to fight the patriarchy. They help lift me up when I’m feeling low. They give me a squad when I’m feeling alone.

So if you need a set of girls, here they are. They aren’t all in Stilettos and Rouge, but they’ll make you feel like you are (thats an empowering thought to me — A girl who can be fiercely woman and yet still kick ass).

Some of the songs are about kicking a man’s ass (literal or metaphorical) for being a jackass. Some songs are about being who you are when the world tells you not to. Some are about proudly wearing your sexuality as the world shouts slut at you. The subjects vary greatly, but the intention is the same: #GirlPower
