‘Tis the Season to be Creepy

As Promised,  movies you should watch this week… because Halloween is a magic in your soul that cannot be ignored.

Hocus Pocus. Appropriate for all ages (in my opinion). I watch this year round, one of my favorites.

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken

Starring Don Knotts, this title might be a little more creepy than the last title. I’d say it’s appropriateness for all ages depends on your kids. I watched it as a little girl, with my dad who hates scary movies. It’s a classic that is too often overlooked — and therefore a little hard to find. Good luck!

House on Haunted Hill

Be careful when looking for this title. The original film is the one I suggest –the one with Vincent Price. It is a black and white film, just like the last suggestion. It has little to no gore. The special effects are old and outdated. Still, it pulls you in and creeps you out. Again, one of my favorites.

Young Frankenstein

It hits the funny bone hard, this one. Also in B/W for effect… which I think was well done.

A few more titles that thrill me less but are still great titles to watch during this “magical” time of year:

  • Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2
  • It
  • The Shining
  • Halloweentown
  • Rocky Horror Picture Show
  • Practical Magic
  • Supernatural (seems appropriate to binge watch a season during this time of year)
  • Amityville Horror
  • The Lost Boys
  • Harry Potter (any)
  • Psycho
  • Sleepy Hollow
  • Ichabod Crane & the Headless Horseman (animated)
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas
  • The Adams Family
  • Beetlejuice
  • The Secret Circle (binge watch the TV series on netflix. I’d reccomend the show over the books, unfortunately)
  • Ghost Busters (Murry)
  • Ghost Busters (McCarthy)
